Welcome to Café Chill

540 NE Commercial St, Waldport, OR 97394, United States

General Info

Tucked along the Oregon coast, Café Chill feels like the kind of coffee shop you stumble upon once and then keep coming back to. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and refreshingly unpretentious. From the moment you walk in, there’s a sense that this place is built with care-something that makes sense once you learn it identifies as women-owned.

The menu is simple but thoughtfully curated, which makes ordering easy. If you’re stopping by in the morning, the muffins are a must. They’re soft, fresh, and pair perfectly with what is easily some of the best coffee in town. The coffee itself is smooth and rich without being overpowering, making it ideal whether you’re easing into your day or just taking a quiet break.

What stood out to me, though, was the variety. You don’t just get standard coffee shop fare. The Spam Musubi adds a fun, savory twist that you don’t expect but quickly appreciate. It’s flavorful, satisfying, and a nice contrast to the sweeter items on the menu. Speaking of sweet, the carrot cake-especially the gluten-free option-is surprisingly good. Even if you’re not usually into gluten-free desserts, this one holds its own with great texture and balanced sweetness.

Another thing that makes Café Chill feel special is how flexible it is throughout the day. It’s not just a morning coffee stop. You can swing by for dinner or dessert, and it still feels like the right place to be. The vibe shifts naturally from a daytime café into a cozy evening hangout without losing its charm.

If you’re traveling with a dog, you’ll appreciate that dogs are allowed outside. It’s a small detail, but it adds to the overall relaxed and inclusive feel of the place. Sitting outside with a coffee and a slice of carrot cake, watching the quiet rhythm of Waldport, is an experience that feels both local and memorable.

In terms of location, Café Chill is easy to find and fits right into the laid-back coastal setting. Reviews often highlight the friendly service, and from my experience, that reputation is well-earned. The staff are approachable, quick to help, and clearly take pride in what they serve.

Overall, this coffee shop balances comfort, flavor, and personality in a way that feels genuine. It’s the kind of spot where the menu, the people, and the atmosphere all come together effortlessly.

What customers say?

“ We had the most amazing meal at Cafe Chill, and the best service ever! Arrived near lunchtime, ordered a the triple decker club with housemade potato salad. And separately a bacon gruyere quiche. The meal arrived quickly in about 10 minutes to our table, and meanwhile we enjoyed an italian soda and chai latte. This cafe also features local artwork and live music on occasion. Of course, we couldn’t leave without some amazing desserts - a blonde brownie, carrot cake, and cinnamon twist. Oh yeah, and a pretzel bagel and cappuccino for the road! What a lovely local cafe this is. Excellent food, incredible staff, and lovely atmosphere. Can’t wait to return! ”
